Grateful for Gratefulness!

What if you woke up tomorrow with only what you were grateful for today?

How’s that for a kick-in-the-butt reminder!?

A couple of years ago I bought a journal where I was supposed to write down three things I was grateful for every single day. The problem was that I really could not think of anything to be grateful for other than my dog and my boyfriend…. Well, things have certainly changed since then. Actually, “things” haven’t changed that much – but I have changed!

Nowadays, the daily habit of writing down three things I’m grateful for is a breeze. I can easily name thousands of things, circumstances, or people that I’m grateful for. And I mean truly grateful, not just saying it but being truly grateful.

If you read my blog post last week, you know I was about to keep a promise – which was to have the text for my children’s book done by the 22nd of December. I am GRATEFUL that I persisted and kept that promise! I finished it on Sunday the 20th, two days before my self-imposed deadline. I am making some 20+ illustrations for that book, which will take a few months. I am grateful to be an author. I absolutely LOVE my job! I used to get paid for writing articles, which was nice. But writing books that can inspire and bring joy to the readers is my passtion. I am deeply grateful that I get to do that.

More than anything, I am grateful for gratefulness. I am grateful that I AM grateful for so many things. I am grateful for my attitude of gratitude.

Here are some other fine folks who practise their gratitude:

  1. Bibi, your attitude of gratitude has already reached such an altitude it’s completely out of sight! 🙂

  2. I too am grateful for gratefulness and experience so much in the present moment for which to be grateful Right this moment I am grateful that you kept your promise and completed your book. Have fun with the illustrations and honoring your Creative Self. All the very Best.

  3. I love your blog! Congratulations on the completion of your first of many books. That is going to be such a joy to read! Do I have to learn Norwegian, first? I am grateful we are on this journey together! Thank you!

    1. Thank you, Louise! My book is coming out in Norwegian first but I will publish an English translation later. I am grateful for your supportive comments on my blog and for knowing you, my friend!
